DJ Mix Pro
DJ Mix Pro is an inexpensive mixing tool with some interesting features that make a DJ’s job easy, like analyzing files for beats-per-minute (BPM) while playing (so you can match beats and build a playlist as you go) and headphone previews of edits.
Dual layout: Separate small windows for DJ Mix Pro’s main interface and its Database are a radical departure from the usual gray-black tones and faux-mixing console look of most DJ tools. It’s easy: Just select tunes in the Database to send or drag to a playlist, play as a jingle, mix with the next tune, and many other actions.
Advanced controls: Despite its clean look, DJ Mix Pro has a pop-up equalizer and song info windows and expandable advanced controls.
Beat-sensing: DJ Mix Pro’s built-in Beatlock Technology detects and displays BPM of songs for the easiest possible matching. Beatlock options include tempo adjustment, upper and lower bounds, and song history retention.
Not a studio console: While DJ Mix Pro is useful on its own, it’s not a substitute for a full mixing suite with sliders, scratch pads, effects, and simulated turntable decks.
DJ Mix Pro stands apart from the crowded field of beat-mixing wares, and not just in looks but functionality. Many DJ tools offer more bells and whistles, but DJ Mix Pro’s basic layout and features won’t let you down when it’s loud, dark, and crowded.
Editors’ note: This is a review of the trial version of DJ Mix Pro 3.0 build 78.5.
DJ Mix Pro is designed to let you choose the songs while it performs by itself quality cross fading, beat matching mixes between songs. DJ Mix Pro has built in Beatlock Technology, that makes it beat-aware. This technology does not alter your sound files, it just analyses them to find the BPM. Knowing the beats, it is able to perform high quality DJ mixes. You just have to fill your play list and it’s done. You can optionally edit the mix position and length, listen to it in your headphones to check you like it.

Works well without problems. Has auto-mixing ability, dual output for main speaker headphone use for cuing while playing two completely different files/songs. Has beat matching ability as well. Many features if you will take the time to use this program. Through the years, support has always been there anytime I had questions.
Is limited on features if your looking for high end, expensive DJ software. There is no color or skins to enhance its look. It is just a plain Jane, basic format when it comes to visual design.
I have used this software since 2002 for weddings, birthdays, reunions, etc. Its been very reliable.
If your looking for high end DJ software, move along BUT, if you’re looking for a good little DJ software that works well for basic DJing where you simply mix one song after the other as in radio style mixing, you wont beat this software for its budget price.
Comparing this software is no different than comparing one car to another. If your looking for a $65,000 Hummer, dont stop at the KIA dealership. However, if your looking for a budget car that gets good gas mileage has the basic features to get you around, a KIA may be the car for you. I would compare this to a high end KIA in respect to having an automatic vs manual transmission. Power windows vs manual roll up style windows, etc. You see where I am going. While its a small budget DJ software package, it does have some specific DJ write-in’s with as mentioned above.
