Love this place and its reverance to beer

My wife and I went to The Church Brew Works, in Lawrenceville for an impromptu date night on Friday, June 16, 2017. We had the Spinach, Feta and Gouda appetizer, my wife had the Pittsburgh Salad and I had the Southwestern Chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. All of the food was very good. To drink I had a Moscow mule (just ok) and a coconut stout beer (fantastic) and my wife had the white wine sangria (a must try, truly excellent). We arrived on a Friday night a little after 700pm with no reservation and were seated promptly with no wait whatsoever. Our server was very good as well. The real draw to the place however, is the atmosphere, as the establishment is very, very unique, if not one of a kind. The only way to describe it, is relaxed, friendly and thoroughly enjoyable, and it is obvious the manager and ownership take pride in their restaurant. All in all, can’t wait to go back.

They have two IPAs, both are good. They also sell pitchers of their beer!

Food was good – I recommend the pulled pork sandwich off the pub menu (there are two menus.

Food was good – I recommend the pulled pork sandwich off the pub menu (there are two menus – the pub menu has sandwiches, which are cheaper than the items on the other menu). They stopped selling pizza since Summer 2016 – they had a fire that ruined their pizza oven.

A Cool Brewery

The Church Brew Works is a brew pub in an old Roman Catholic Church. They’ve built the brewery in the church but kept a lot of the church in there. the stained glass windows, the pews are the seating for the tables, even the confessional boxes are still there. The beer was good and the pierogies were excellent. Our server, Alyssa, was great. While we were eating, Phillip, the manager came over to chat with us. It was a fun experience and I would go back.
