Master of Business Administration

The Master of Business Administration articulates into the following programs for domestic students. International students can only articulate into the programs noted with *:

  • *Master of Commerce / Master of Business Administration
  • *Master of Information Technology / Master of Business Administration
  • Master of Occupational Health Safety and Environmental Management / Master of Business Administration
  • Master of Professional Accounting / Master of Business Administration

Applicants for a Master’s degree who hold an Australian Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a business-related (cognate) discipline may be eligible to apply for advanced standing for up to four foundation units (40 credit points) of the course. Applicants may also be considered for advanced standing based on significant work experience in a defined business field.

Please note: Even if students are eligible for advanced standing based on prior study or experience they may choose to study the foundation units to enhance their English and academic study skills, augment their understanding of Australian business systems, or refresh their business knowledge.

The MBA provides a generalist business education. It will qualify individuals to apply an advanced body of knowledge to a range of contexts for professional practice and use it as a pathway for further learning.

There are 12 specified units, 2 electives from the business offerings and 2 units that could be taken from any ACU postgraduate unit offerings. There are two capstone components included in the MBA: the Strategic Management for Sustainability unit, and the Ethical Leadership and Social Responsibility unit.

MBA students who have completed the requirements prescribed for the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration or the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration may exit from the course with the relevant award by arrangement with the Course Coordinator.

If you have an undergraduate business related degree (such as B Business, B Business Administration, B Marketing, B HRM, B International Business) you now have the choice to complete ACU’s Master of Business Administration in as little as 12 months. Take advantage of advanced standing and a three semester program and you can fast-track your degree by six months.

Students with a Student Visa will need to complete the program in minimum duration, study at least one subject on-campus each semester and must not undertake more than 25% of the program online.

Important Note on Fees

The Tuition fees quoted above are for commencing students in the current year who undertake a normal full-time load. Fees are reviewed annually.

Tuition fees for continuing students may increase by up to 3 percent each year for the minimum duration of the course as provided on your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE). Students who continue to study beyond the minimum duration will have the relevant annual commencing rate applied to their fees for subsequent study periods.

Applicants must have an overall academic IELTS of 6.5 (with an individual score of 6.0 for all tests) as well as an equivalent of an Australian bachelor’s degree in any discipline (the equivalent of an Australian bachelor’s degree in a related discipline will be eligible for up to four units credit); or a Graduate Certificate in a related discipline.
