Where Can I Find LVN Classes Online?

Due to the practical skills that licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) must learn, there are not many LVN classes online. To offer students flexibility, some schools do offer LVN theory classes online; however, these programs still require students to complete hands-on training. This article will tell you where you can find some LVN classes online. Schools offering Nursing degrees can also be found in these popular choices.

LVN Training Overview

Licensed vocational nurses (LVNs) help take care of patients who are in stable condition. As an LVN, you will work under the supervision of doctors and registered nurses. Your training focuses mostly on practical skills, not theoretical medical knowledge. During training, you will learn hands-on skills and work with patients. For this reason, the majority of your training must be done in person, and it cannot be completed online. LVNs typically earn a certificate or associate’s degree specifically for LVNs, which prepares you to immediately enter the field after graduation. Many programs also prepare you to take the National Council Licensing Exam for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN).

Although LVN training programs are generally not offered completely online, some schools may allow you to take some basic LVN theory classes online and then come to campus to learn practical skills. Additionally, if you wish to go on to become a registered nurse (RN) later, some schools offer LVN-to-BS programs online. Here is a look at two schools that offer LVN classes online.
